Difference between a Windows Service and a normal process?
Hi,
I have recently built a server that I want running on all the machines of a network all the time. I was wondering if I could run my program as a Windows Service instead of a normal process in the "startup" of each user.
My problem is that I don't know the real definition of a service. Is it only an unstoppable process? Is it exactelly the same as a normal process? What exactely is the difference between a service and a process? Plus, I don't know if there is anything new I should add to my code to permit my program to run as a service.
Anyway, I'd appreciate any kind of input on the matter.
Thanks a lot in advance, Stephane.
