I think you're correct about this Larry -- it's been awhile for me & Novell. Additionally, this NET.CFG file needs reconginzed by the Novell files. One way to assure this is to put NET.CFG in the same directory from which the Novell files are invoked.

For example:
If your autoexec.bat contains

CD NETWARE
NETIPX.EXE

put the NET.CFG in \NETWARE directory.

If your autoexec.bat contains

NETWARE\NETIPX.EXE

put the NET.CFG in the root directory.
