I have been reading some of the comments on this subject. It makes me sick to hear of all the programmers out there making this much and that much money. Try living in an area where programming jobs are like finding a needle in a hay stack. If you are talking about VFP and VB, because there are a few RPG, AS400 positions, but I don't want to do that kind of work. So the companies around here have the option of what they want to pay an employee and let me tell you, it is not that much (try $30,000 to $50,000). But I live with it because I want to live near my family and my wife's family. So until business starts picking up around the Tri-Cities of TN (Kingsport, Bristol, and Johnson City for those that don't know), I will be making no where near the amount that I feel I should be getting paid.
