I'm working with a company where they've come up with their own naming conventions and standards for variables, functions and procedures. It's driving me crazy because everyone has grabbed that standard and ran with it in their own direction.

In the past, I've worked with developers with good habits and good naming conventions & standards and the code for the most part looks like it belong to a company (not an individual person). I like this in a development shop environment and I'd like to impliment this in this shop. I know what naming conventions & standards to use but it seems like everyone here is from "the show me state".

Does anyone have a link to a website that documents these standards?

Also, does anyone have some advise on how to deal with people from the "show me state"? Your input is greatly appreciated.
