Hi!
Why you want so much overhead with wwIPStuff instead of using the DCOM approach?
See also File#985383 in the Files Section. I made some tests for data transferring in LAN using DCOM, they include also XML approach. I used Rick's wwXML class that uses MSXML control for working with XML strings. From tests I see that XML string is ~5 times larger than buinary data. Guess it will take 5 times more time only for data transferring over Internet (maybe less, because XML text is better compressable). What about converting data into XML and back? this approach, however, have some advantages. See my document.
>I was using wwIPStuff to get files and was thinking that the "MSXML Transfer Control" (correct name?) with IE55 would be a better choice since I could use it client-side and server-side (in my ASP-callable COM objects) because it was supposed to be thread-safe, etc.

The professional level of programmer could be determined by level of stupidity of his/her bugs
It is not appropriate to say that question is "foolish". There could be only foolish answers. Everybody passed period of time when knows nothing about something.
