IMHO I wouldn't rely on the scope of reference of Local variables to continue to be viewable inside reports in the future. Although all my requests for changes to the report facility have met with public pronouncements that Microsoft is not changing that part of Fox, each release ( sp too ) seems to touch that area. Thus without actually saying anything, they ( MS ) could "fix" this scope of reference anomoly for ( to ) us.

Private variables and fields in tables have worked fine for me.
