>How should cursor files (.cur) be distributed?

I remember someone (was it David Frankebach?) mentioning a long time ago that .cur files had to be distributed as free files (excluded from the project) and installed in the same dir as the exe. This doesn't seem to work, though. Has anyone successfully distributed .cur files and how?
