Is there any way to reference a memory variable in a report in Access 2000?

In FoxPro I could do something like this:

x="This is my report title"

Then in the report header I could create a textbox with x as a controlsource (not called that in VFP) and it would display the string in the header.

Can I do this in Access 2000? Without calling a UDF?
