What I did was a little off the Normal beat and path, but it works, and really quite simple to get off the ground.

Have the palm user set up an account with www.avantgo.com
then create simple web pages, filled in with VFP data. You dont have to learn any new api (provided you know html)

then have the palm user, sync their palm with Avantgo, with custom links to their database information. you would be suprised how much information you can get into very simple web pages if you try. Avantgo find (included with their software searches all the downloaded web pages, so the searching utility is already written.

You can also, create simple web - html forms, that submit back to the server when the palm users syncs the next time they sync.

This works if you have a web application running, serving up vfp data already, otherwise you will need to get some web serving software configured.


So I guess the answer I have, is take it WAP. simple, clean, and no client install.

You can also purchase avantgo server software, if you want more control of the links, to automatically set up custom links for your palm users.
