Do you have many homeless people in your area? On the West Coast there are many homeless persons. Might be because of the expectation of warm weather or something. Yesterday, we had snow down to 500 feet in the San Francisco Bay Area. The Hiway from San Jose to Santa Cruz (the beach) was closed due to snow. Must have been hardest for the homeless.

According to reports, about 1/3 of the homeless are on drugs, and many of them are Viet Nam Vets, like myself. About 50% of Viet Nam Vets are said to have a serious drug problem – guess it was a way to cope with what was going on. I hate to see any individual or segment of society unable to function or with the inability to assist themselves. It is not a pleasant sight to see people walking around that do not care for themselves. Sitting back in your home where it is nice and warm and you have a roof over your head and four walls from within to do what ever you wish is a nice condition to enjoy.

I know we cannot help all the homeless or those with a drug problem but at least I can pray for them. I lost too many friends and “doing drugs” is not something I take lightly.
