I've had the same thing occur to me since going to 5.0a. I cannot associate the image list to the treeview. I think that it's simply a bad control and you'll have to find an earlier or later version of the one you have. I haven't done that yet as I don't need the treeview right now, but I'll have to get one eventually. If you find a good working one, please let me know.
