Thanks for responding. When you say the user has to be defined on the W2K box I'm not sure exactly what you mean. The share has granted full permissions to the network user that I am trying to map with. Also I am not able to map even with the administrator login and password.

The W2K box is an application server running SQL Server, does it do it's own authentication of user and password? Should it not use the same networking authentication that other applications servers running NT4.0 use.
