>I had a conversation with my acquaintance, and when I mentioned, I work with VFP, she told: "Such an old product..." with obvious disrespect. I had the similar experience in the past too. Sometimes I even ashamed to admit I work with VFP. Do you know the reason of such attitude from outside of VFP world?

Hi Nadya,

This comment is a bit on the "defensive" side, but regardless how hard I try, I have a difficult time bringing myself to taking VB seriously. Basic was the first language I learnt, when I was just 14, and even though I did make one commercial app with GW-Basic when I was in college, I just can't consider it for anything but pranks and little trick programs.

You could always answer the "such an old product.." with something like "Oh yeah, it's really great to develop with a tool that's so mature, rich, bugless, and fast while the rest of the world just play with java and vb."

BTW, did you know that ink-jet technology and airbags are about 30 years old?
