Instead of adding the 4 buttons to the left hand frame, why not add them to the Calendar screen? Seems like a better solution, with room for adding buttons.

Also, how about making it available to turn the top toolbar on or off. Of all the top links I use.... one maybe. If that.

So maybe adding "Forum Main Page" to the left side, removing the "Today, Yesterday...." buttons and letting us remove the top links, it would trim of some of the fat here.
