So I thought that since I had to install this "portal", why not make the most of it and allow the users to alter it at will. Plus, seeing that the users had many shorcuts on their desktops, it would be nice to regroup the ones related to a DB or a company program on the bar. They will still use both the bar AND the WINNT shortcuts.

Another thing you might want to look at is enabling the active destop for IE, there is an option somewhere there that allows you to add a toolbar to the task bar.

Now, I don't see how having a script adds functionality to such a bar, other than adding more options. I'm assuming you are talking about a logon script here.
