Hi All,

I'm currently working on a project which requires taking text from the body of an outlook mail message. Some of the text is in Japanese, when I use the body property using outlook automation the japanese text is converted to question marks. I've found an article in the outlook knowledge base which states:

"The Outlook user interface allows you to apply various formatting to mail
messages, but when you use the Body property from Microsoft Visual Basic
Scripting Edition (VBScript) or Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications, all of
the text formatting is lost. This is because in the Outlook object model, the
data type of the Body property is text, so it behaves no differently than other
types of controls, such as a label or text box."

Does anyone know if text other than Roman characters is treated as formatted? If this is the case then it will explain why the japanese is turning to question marks. I'm checking here before I fork out $300 logging a support call with Microsoft.
