My sources of information may be obsolete and quirky, but wasn't the early model of airbag installed on the handheld shields for use in spear-to-spear combats? That means there may have been some airbags which didn't need wheels. OTOH, they could have been using wooden horses on wheels, which sounds rather ridiculous - but what do we really know about those times?
