Honestly, I've never heard of it being possible to search a grid with CTRL-F. I know it works with browse windows, but grids are different. Just as a test, I stuck a basic grid on a basic form and gave it a table. "Find" is greyed out on the menu.

I could be wrong, but I don't think it's a built in functionality.
