Unless SAP has changed in the last couple years, which I doubt....
You can not access the data directly thru ODBC. It would be foolhardy to even try. SAP has their data in a hugh amount of tables.
The only way to successfully access SAP data is thru SAP tools, so that you are using their data dictionary. They do offer a tool called 'BAPI' - Business API that allows for VB to work with SAP through ODBC. I never investigated to see if BAPI worked with VFP also.
