I have a Windows 2000 desktop/server network, upto date with all service packs.

On my desktop computer any program that calls up a directory tree, PowerDesk , Word save as, etc. takes about 20 seconds to display the first time it is called.

This only happens only on my desktop, no other computer.

I checked and I do not have a reference to the floppy disk or the CD-ROM in a path or in the Run dialog.

This is a new development. We loaded Win 2000 at Christmas and it ran fine until yesterday.
