He stated that DBCs were too fragile - he stated that it got corrupted relatively frequently. No DBCs for him - thankyouverymuch!
The view definitions may reference free tables, but the views will be stored in a DBC, either a temporary DBC or a permanent one with no tables bound to it. The DBC could actually be constructed programmatically each time the app started using GENDBC or a similar tool.
