Can anyone recommend a good Universal Thread-like Oracle site?

Also, I need books. I need to get up to speed quickly on doing some basic interactions between my app and Oracle. Any thoughts on what to read for the quickest overview? Any specific articles people are aware of for integrating with Oracle?
