Thanks for the pointer, but I see network load-balancing as the kind of thing that happens at the presentation or business logic tiers of a system (for scalability). I am talking stuff that happens on the back-end at the data-tier (for fault-tolerance).
I was thinking of a case where a VFP COM object transforms some MSSQL-supplied data or something, and then the app gets moved to a MS cluster, and in certain cases a cluster failover happens the VFP COM objects would be able to handle the situation.
