>In the other forum, you referred to a couple of books by Urman. Will these give me enough of an overview to get started? I mean, I know NOTHING! I've done some ODBC remote views before, but I'm starting to read about Oracle and I'm getting a little freaked out. It's a whole 'nother world! I was just kind of hoping to be able to read a few tables, and then write to the relevant tables, no big deal. But it looks like I'm being naive.
Start with Oracle8: The Complete Reference [ISBN 0-07-88-2396-X]
Next get my ODBC DSN Class from the Files section here. Loaded with comments and examples of connecting VFP to Oracle.
Read thread #
300919 and thread #
275853.
Do additional searches in the VFP Forum under my member number and key words like Oracle, ODBC and [Data] Session [Class].
