Hi Steve -
I would look for someone who has programming experience (in any language - VB, C++ etc) and some experience in accounting.
I also think that the willingness to learn, the excitement about the job and the 'fit' within your organization is almost as important as their previous experience.
>I am looking to add a developer to my staff to support installation and customization of SBT (Accpac) Accounting systems software. As I am sure you are aware, this software is VFP based. Although, I am early in this search, I think that finding a VFP specialist will not be easy. I am looking for some input from the experts as to the skill sets that I should look for that would lend themselves to becoming proficient in VFP even if a candidate has only limited real exposure to VFP. Thanks.
Good Luck!!
