Exactly...

The folks that have descretion over what can get and gets done know the story. Robert and Ricardo are in control over what goes on. Anything else at MS is concerned with .Net, and that has zero to do with VFP.

Regardless of what happens, MS will never push VFP as a strategic tool to the enterprise. It is however, a solution. And, so long as VFP can appear in magazines like MSDN, InfoWorld, etc, with ads that describe what VFP does best -with URLs to case studies - things will improve.

It is a matter of understanding the limitations and framework you have to work in. And then, maximize your opportunities in that space. To try and expand that is to be an unrealistic dreamer. Dream all you want, but nothing productive will come of it - unless you understand the framework that you have to work within.

Essentially, this is what I have been trying to say for 2 years now. Fox is a great tool. However, it is a tool that will never be marketed to the "enterprise". That space is left to .Net. No way MS is going to attempt to disrupt what is already a fragile space.

Fox is a nuts and bolts/home spun tool. Make the marketing very practical, with practical solutions. Put the ads in the right places and people will see. And with that, the story will improve...

>>I just reviewed the vote list. I noticed, sadly, that none of the 'esteemed' have voted (not that those who have voted aren't valuable, but you know what/who I mean).

>>I guess that they are generally satisfied with the status quo. It gets me to wondering WHY that would be.

>I don't know if I am one of the 'esteemed' you are talking about, but I'll tell you why I haven't put my name down- because MS already knows how the VFP developer community feels about the product. Even if that letter gets 100 signatures- 1000 or 5000 signatures- what does that show them? That 5000 developers want them to spend more money on marketing. Like they don't know that.
