In my tests I did not refer to any indexorder at all, and since I do not use an INDEX ON DELETED() the index is not a cause for the delay either (when SET DELETE = ON).

As for it's faster to set the order after table is loaded, I'm not sure if this is the case, however tommorrow, I'll have the opportunity to test this (on a 256 kbs LAN). I'll see if I can tune this one with or without the help of SET ORDER.
