>I think my preference on this is neither Yes or No, not even "None of the above". FWIW and as I stated on my first reply I still see it as a diversion to the question I believe has more relevance to us, which is ShoudlVFPbeInVS (or something like that).

PMFJI. I agree that Microsoft has given us some say in whether or not VFP will be in the VS box, and I believe that is an important issue. Basically, Robert Green has stated that if we take VFP out of the box, we can expect marketing specific to VFP's strengths. If we do not, we can expect the same VS marketing approach that is taken right now. The problem is that we really don't know how significant that out-of-the-box marketing will be. We risk VFP falling completely off the map if marketing falls below expectations. IMO, the issues of VFP in/out of the box and marketing go hand in hand.

With that in mind, I have agreed to consider signing the open letter. Although MS has not asked for our opinion on marketing efforts, a petition was never formed because a company asked for it. At the very least, it may prompt a response to a question that hasn't been officially answered for a long time. I certainly don't see where any harm could result from signing the letter. In the end, if I like the letter, I'll sign it. If I don't, I won't. In the meantime, if I like, I can provide input along with the rest of our peers in the forming of the letter.
