Mark,

This is how it said in a Contract:
HOLIDAYS: The following holidays are officially recognized paid holidays and provider is unavailable for child care unless special arrangements are made with the provider.

Holidays:
New Years Day
Partiots Day
Memorial Day
Independance Day
Labor Day
Veterans' Day - negotiable
Thanksgiving
Christmas Eve
Christmas Day & Day After
Passover
Yom Kippur

11 so far :)

BTW, it's not clear about Passover - does it mean the whole Passower week or just one Day?

Perhaps President's Day has another name, under which it's listed here, which I'm just unaware of.

Thanks for your help.

>Does the contract say ALL Federal holidays? If so, then she rightfully took the day off. If not, or Presidents' Day is not specifically listed, then contractually you are owed 1 day.

>>Hi everybody,
>>
>>I have a son, who goes to the Child Care for four days a week, and on Friday I'm working home. Today is a US Holiday - Presidents Day. On the last Thursday our Care Provider didn't mention, what she would have day off because of the holiday. In the written contract, what we have, there are several holidays listed as a paid holiday (for instance, Yom Kipur and Christmas Eve - funny combination), but Presidents day is not listed.
>>
>>My manager asked me to come to work today, if it's convenient for me. Since we thought, this would be the regular day for her, I agreed and came.
>>
>>When my husband drove our son to Child Care Provider, he found, that she left for weekend.
>>
>>So, the question is: do we have to pay for this Holiday? Can we ask her to take care for our son on Friday in exchange?
>>
>>Thanks in advance for your insights.
If it's not broken, fix it until it is.
