>>>Thanks for taking the extra initiative Alex! This is a grass roots campaign and every signature will increase our chance of success. I'd really like to see if there's any truth those figures about there being a hundred thousand VFP developers! If so, I'm gonna be pretty busy fielding all the requests from people who haven't yet been initiated to wikis. Not to mention the VFPers who aren't regulars on the net, however many of those are left. Please feel free to spread the word and add the names of anyone who asks to be listed, and I extend this invitation to anyone else who is comfortable editing wiki pages.

>>I was noticing that. Boy, you sure did a great job of putting the word out, man! It's putting the USA and Canada to shame, I'm sad to say. Sure would be nice if some more of those bigwigs would start making their appearance (hint), to speed things a long a bit. But I'm patient. After all, we've waited years for this, and the rate of new names coming in is still increasing. Of course we'll eventually encounter an asymptotic limit as we approach the actual number of true red-blooded VFPers. Anybody want to make a bet where this number will be in another week? Pretty soon someone is going to have to write us a little VFP utility to count the names.

Hi Nadya,

I think I'll wait to hear some other people's predictions first. Also we may not have a representative first few days here, since this started just before the long holiday weekend. But I'd say we're doing pretty damn well in the percentages: better than 99% unanimity. It would take quite a statistical fluke for that to be far off. We seem to have attained a critical mass here, so the ultimate outcome may just be a matter of time now.

Say, Nadya, how about using your charms to drum up some of that Russian contingent. I know there are a lot of people seriously into VFP out there, and you'd think that the fear of Microsoft would have an inverse relationship to distance, not to mention the nukes and all. Maybe you could post a few messages and harvest some names to add to the list yourself, if that isn't asking too much.

One more thing, Nadya. How about asking around at the office to see if any of your co-workers who are less active on the Internet would like to be counted. Surely they will be eager to join in. We've barely scratched the surface so far.

Mike
