On a new Thinkpad A21, I have found that it displays a volume control when we press on the volume hi-lo buttons on the keyboard to set the volumne. That displays a set of squares indicating the current state of the volume. Then, I had to do a change in the configuration. Now, I can't find how to enable that again.
