>I have a problem with my app on Win2K Professional. It runs but certain screens need more file handles. Under Win98 we put FILES=250 in the Config.sys and this worked. What do we do with Windows 2000 Professional to get the same results? (we noticed that on Win ME the PerVMFiles=225 setting works on one of the screens but one other still can't open all the tables needed. (Needs to open

WinNT/2K uses the CONFIG.NT file and FILES=; the alternative is to right click on the app, select Properties, and create a custom profile for the VDM, which can include both a custom AUTOEXEC and CONFIG file.

As to PerVMFiles= in WinME, my understanding is that whatever number you specify, the number 31 is added to it, which means that you should not set it about 223. Try changing it to 223 and see what happens.
