Not sure if this'll help, it depends what configuration you have. Can't recall if it's identical in 97, but for Outlook 2000 webmail, look in Tools/Accounts/Properties/Servers, the PW stuff is there.

It will probably need to be the same as your network PW, if the setup is anything like mine.
