We have several workstations (W'95, w'98, W2K Pro) and servers (Win2K Server, and NT4.0 server) with shared folders, all running on a TCP/IP network.
On all of our W2K Professional workstations the mapped drives will become disabled (they have a red X thru the drive in Explorer). This appears to be random and may happen several times per day.
At the least it causes Windows messageboxes to come op, at the worst, some programs cannot locate files.
As soon as the user clicks on the mapped drive in Explorer, the files are available and the red X goes away.
What is causing this?
What can I do to prevent it?
