As Al alluded to- I had a similiar problem two years ago. The client was opening up a DBF in Excel modifying and resaving it. Really screwed us up. IN our case they added a field with the smae name as an exisitng field. Fox (2.6) really loved that!!!

It took me a week to get the manager to admit that they had done just that. They wanted to create a report from outside the app and by mistake changed the field "gender".
