I have just completed two Word Mail Merge enhancements. Go to www.hentzenwerke.com and order the Microsoft Office Automation with VFP book. It gives a very good example (and the source code is downloadable from the site) of Word Mail Merge that does not use ODBC. I have had ODBC problems and from reading other threads ODBC is problematic. Also do not use word.basic as an object, you want to use word.application. Word.basic is an older object, pre Win97. You can learn a bit from searching on mail merge and then reading some of the threads. That helped me.
