I agree that swift and decisive "spin management" is crucial to prevent Gartner Group, ZD, et al from rehashing all their old misinformation into new stories with headlines like "MS drives another stake into the VFP coffin, FoxPro booted from VS.Net."

I certainly encourage Robert and the rest of our friends at MS to head off this problem before the press pukes all over our favorite product due to "misinterpretation" of MS press release(s).

>>I'm sure you will be releasing this info to the press immediately, so they can get the official Microsoft spin.

>I fully agree with you David on this point. The 'Spin' that is put out by MS reps will be what sets the tone on how VFP will be viewed by those seeking DB solutions in the future.

>A prime example of this came from my own Network guy. I informed him of the decision to pull VFP out of Visual Studio Net. His response was 'Oh MS finally deciding to drop VFP?' So I agree with you fully that the existence of VFP in the long term may well hinge on how MS reps respond to questions from those with the money needing database solutions developed.
