I think it is important to verify the quality of the job the marketers are doing, especially the regional sales reps that (the anecdotal reports continue to come in) dis VFP in favor of other MS products, doing so with a combination of misinformation and FUD. It is usual, in retail environments, to "shop" customer service points, i.e., send in assessors who pose as customers. Doing the same here would be one way of protecting the product from a continuation of a history of less-than-poor service from the MS marketers. We need that protection: without receiving the credibility of inclusion in VS (.NET or not, regardless of the merits of the case), VFP will be terribly exposed.
