That's a noble and sensible thought, but I'm skeptical. Even if Robert, Ricardo, et al are proactive and take the trouble to get their talking points out to the field offices, there is no guarantee the recipients will take it to heart or pass it along to corporate customers with the same spin and zeal. Based on past experience, it is hard to be optimistic that they will.

There is not much Microsoft can do to control the reaction to this. I think we can safely predict the reaction by non-VFP developers. They thought VFP was a museum piece even when it was IN Visual Studio. This announcement will only reinforce the view that it is a dead/dying product.

Bottom line, I suspect we will get one more release after VFP 7.
