www.emulators.com/Pentium4.htm. There are all kinds of problems apparently. I've heard that in some instances, through put slows down to as little as 200 Mhz. From what I can see, the chip is a dog and should be registered with the AKC. Right now, my plan is to buy a new Athlon machine.

You also should check
www.x86.org, if you really want to get the total rundown on what the P4 does wrong. I'm sticking with PIII Xeons if I need multiprocessor, large memory configs, and the Athlon for single CPU systems. Short of current apps getting fully recompiled with a P4 optimizing compiler, there's no fix in sight for the P4. Get the box a Milkbone doggie biscuit, or return it for an 'inferior' PIII or Athlon box with more RAM.
