Hi Vlad,
Thanks for your reply.
It's a strange problem. The database name is
test and this is the name that is entered in the ODBC config. I am connecting to the Database as user
liam. This works fine for all the SPT commands. It's only when I get to creating views that I run into problems...
One would expect the syntax to be
Select * from test.company instead we see
SELECT * FROM liam.company WHERE 1=0\ 0I imagine this statement is simply to get a list of fields for displaying to the user for selection.
I wonder is VFP, or the ODBC driver, getting confused between the login name and the database name? When I get home later I'll create a user called
test to force the statement
Select * from test.company and see what happens.
OTOH, maybe this is normal behaviour. I'll try for one more evening and then revert to MySQL which I
know VFP can work with.
Regards,
Liam
