Has anyone suggested looking at or changing the video driver? About the only other thing I'd look at is whether or not the computer's BIOS setup is allocating some memory segments to BIOS, video or something else.
Or, do you have some kind of auto-defragmenting or system cleanup process working? I've noticed on my W2K machine at work that when I have WinFax running that I get extra copies of DLLHOST.EXE running and this seems to get in the way at times.
