Hi Mike!

>I didn't realize that you also posted an announcement about the poll. That's great! You are hereby elevated to the rank of lieutenant. Would you please add an entry about this posting in the list on http://fox.wikis.com/wc.dll?Wiki~WillMicrosoftMarketVFPAnnouncements.

awww gee... shawks... thanks. I updated the wiki with a copy of my message.

>Another point I would take issue with is the interpretation that those who are opposed to the idea of an open letter chose to say nothing rather than to vote No. That's not how I read it at all.

I would agree with you on this if there were more names under the "no" vote, but last time I checked, and I wouldn't make any assumptions based on a 300 to 1 ratio. It just seems (to me at least) a bit stretchy.

>No VFP-er in his right mind would really oppose even considering signing an open letter to MS encouraging them to better promote VFP.

You, I, and the others who did include their names on the list obviously agree on what "in their right mind" means, but that doesn't mean that those who didn't sign feel the same way.

To some people, "being in their right mind" might mean never to disagree with an idea coming from redmond (i.e. "not to rock the boat").

Through my wife, I'm also involved in the Stationery industry (specifically Invitations, announcements, and printing), and we have had one vendor refuse to sell their products to us because Susy disagreed with the company owner's opinions.

>My hope is that as the number of names on the list gets large enough, the first category, those with reservations about making the slightest open criticism of MS, however well-founded, will see that they have nothing more to fear. Get it?

From thy mouth to God's ear. :)

Have fun!

Alex
