I tried to find a way to do this several months ago and the problem is really with exchange server (I'm assuming your using exchange server). It doesn't really matter what you put in the "from" field in an email in outlook, exchange server will always resolve it to the default email from what ever account sent it. I did find a way around it but you can't use outlook. I used wwiptools from west wind and created and email with one of the classes in there and then sent it directly to the smtp server instead of going through exchange.

I have several different e-mail accounts and want to be able to have the messages my application sends to use an account other than my default mail account. Is there a way to specify which account to send the message with. By manually sending the message you can "send using" and select the account. I cannot find a way to do this programatically.
