The issue is that the combo is supposed to update its controlsource from the currently selected item. When the controlsource is set to the same cursor as the row source and you change the selected item VFP is either going to change the vlaue of the current record to the new item you selected or it is going to move the record pointer in the cursor. When both the RowSource and the ControlSource point to the same cursor there is trouble in the making.
