From what I've been told, Windows NT (at least 3.51) has C2 security certification, but looses that certification as soon has it is on any network.
Someone suggested having 2 network boards. I've been told by a Cisco representative (ok, I know it could be a biaised opinion) in a conference about (how to prevent) hacking that even that was not a good protection since once someone has hacked into the first computer, it's just a matter of changing a few settings and gets access to the second computer via the first one.
Maybe you should consider a hardware and a software firewall.
