I didn't think of a view, although a view is conceptually similar to an SQL Select cursor. Problem is, the framework requires a table for the form. I can change the framework if I have to, and actually a view would be better than a cursor since a view is updatable, so that's a good idea for me. But I am hoping to find a solution that will permit me to use the underlying table rather than change the framework.
