Bryan:
I use Codemine. Its a fantastic framework and I am currently beta-testing the new version 7 which really takes Codemine to the next level. If you have any questions, specific or otherwise that you would care to field, do not hesitate to ask.
The question of learning curve is subjective. When I first got into Codemine, it would be fair to say that most of my experience was with Foxpro 2.6 although I had read all the VFP books and knew the theory. Thereafter, I was very quickly rewriting my legacy app in VFP with few problems.
You are right about needing something to hold the elements of an app together. VFP is such a big product with many ways of achieving the same thing. Codemine is logical, easy to use, reliable and lean. You also stay very close to VFP. A number of frameworks that I looked at put too much between you and the Fox.
The support from Dave Lehr is great too.
HTH and as I said, feel free to ask away.
>I'm looking for feedback from anybody who has used or is using the Codemine framework with VFP6. How steep is the learning curve with it? Any problems you've experienced? I've never used a commercial framework before, or have never even done a full-blown app before with vfp. I understand most syntax, and have worked with dBase3-5 for over 10 years. I'm porting an old dBase5/DOS program to vfp, and have done quite a bit of it without a framework, but have reached a point where I have to rely on something else to help hold all the elements of the app together. I was impressed with the Codemine sample app, and am just looking for any information anyone can give me on it.
