Hi Fred [and everyone else who has contributed],

>No, the only thing I see when that happens (and it's dependant on the font in use at the time) is that the other characters are there if you use BROWSE, but as soon as you make that the currently selected cell, everything from the CHR(0) on gets cut off, but they are still there. Try using ASC() on each SUBSTR char of your field and you should see what I mean. You'll have 65,0,66,67,68, etc. just fine.

Ah, I see what you mean - I was trying to get a simple example together to demonstrate this.

However, if I now create a remote view on the same table [using the VFP ODBC drivers] the data in the remote view differs from that in the local view.

What do you see when you do this ?
