Interesting! Thanks! I'll have to do more testing because on page 418 of the VFP 6 Programmers Guide it states:
"
... INDEX ON DELETED() TAG DEL
.......
(other example/s)

In the special case that you want to delete records from a query, using an index like the first example above will speed up the operations when you've
SET DELETED to ON."
